The IEP allows the accelerated acquisition of the language by dedicating 25 to 35 teaching hours per week. The pupils are expected to master all language skills, namely, speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary for practical application in the areas of study or work. Another context is the IELTS exam test which is designed to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers in the areas of listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Although IEPs assist students in developing language skills that prepare them for tests such as the IELTS, the IELTS is one of those tests that target university or immigration purposes. |
